My Background

I am a qualified and accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, although I use an integrative approach according to each client’s needs. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy based on the connection between one’s thoughts, feelings, behaviour and physical symptoms and is recommended by the NHS for treatment of many mental health problems including anxiety and depression. CBT uses tools and strategies to help you overcome difficulties and work towards your goals, unlike traditional therapies such as ‘person centred’ therapy. However, as all therapists should, I work from the basic therapeutic principles of empathy, congruence and unconditional positive regard; put more simply I am empathetic, genuine and non-judgemental.

I have experience working with anxiety disorders, depression, stress, trauma, bereavement, relationship breakdown, redundancy, self harm, low self esteem, OCD, chronic health conditions and more.

I have a BA in Community Education, COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills and a Post Graduate Diploma in CBT. I am accredited with BACP, PVG certified and fully insured.
